I'm a craft lady because two boys & a machine

Hello there, my name is Margaret- welcome to my craft blog where I share things about my Little Misters, Life and Crafting. I love working with my hands, stretching myself creatively & trying new things. Challenging myself, within reason and my ability, to find out how things go together. Crafting is a passion of mine and I can't limit myself to one medium, I enjoy them all.

I learned crafty skills when I was a young girl who wanted to be doing all the little boy stuff. I'm completely sporty, love working with power tools and using my hands to make things. When my Grandmother was teaching me arts and crafts I was completely unaware of the value of it all. Years later, about 6 months after my first son was born I lost a little piece of me... I lost my sense of personal accomplishment.  I bought my first sewing machine that year and have been making things ever since. I started blogging to document and share my projects with the world.

My husband continues to encourage me to reach for the stars on my personal journey to find myself in this new role of motherhood and craft blogging. I worked twelve years at an Architectural office till I quit to follow my dream of becoming a photographer. Most days you can find me at home with my two sons playing & crafting to my hearts content.

A few Hobbies I enjoy:
Furniture building, wood working, Photography, card making, designing Invitations/ announcements, Scrap booking, Sewing, Knitting, Cross stitch, reading, and trying new things

Why I craft:
I come from a very large crafty family with Uncles and Aunts who do everything from woodworking to ceramics. (To read more about my crafty heritage click the photo). Using my hands to create has been a HUGE part of who I am.

I am now a mother of two wonderful boys (on this blog, I refer to as Little Man, 8, and Click, 6) who inspire me daily to be creative, and enjoy life. Some of the most entertaining projects are boxes that turn into dreams, cushions that we build into castles. I want to give my kids and I permission to dream and invent. Life should be simple; it's just easier that way and it tends to be more enjoyable!
