Handmade Easter Baskets

I don't really decorate for each season and I am not really sentimental about having the perfect Easter basket. This is the bag I threw together a year ago very last minute for Little Man O. Last month I entered an online giveaway and won this book "More Last Minute Knitted Gifts". I was pretty excited, I never win anything. When it arrived in the mail I flipped through it right away and decided the first thing I'd make is the knit basket. The directions were super easy to follow and it went together quite nicely. I modified it ever so slightly by adding a little loop for a "handle"- in case I should want to use it after Easter is over. It cost me about $2 and almost 5 hours of my time.

I also made a slightly different "basket". A while ago I stumbled across these amazingly fun looking Loot Pails. I used two layers of cream colored felt for the sides and added a splash of blue to the bottom. I had leftover strapping from the toddler belts I make, so the handle was quite easy. This one cost even less then the knit basket, and went together in less than an hour.

I think I'm pretty happy with them both, now we just have to fill them with something other than Easter eggs borrowed from Grandma.

How fun! I especially love the knit one. I keep saying I have to learn to knit. Great job!
