iheartfaces photo challenge: slice of life

This was a slice of our life this past weekend. We took my mother to the MN Zoo with her grandchildren in honor of her birthday. When we decided to take a ride on the monorail, we had no idea we'd turn an ordinary day at the zoo into a "birthday to remember". The electric monorail broke down and my sisters, mother, all of our small children (four kids under three years old) and I were trapped in our train car for about an hour and a half. Then we were rescued by firemen who carried our babies down an extension ladder 18 feet to the ground. We climbed down ourselves but thought the firemen might have more experience with carrying people down a ladder one handed. That's my crying 15 month old in the arms of a very patient firemen. Thank you to all firemen everywhere!
